What qualifications do I need?

The types of qualifications required will depend on the role. Any specific qualifications required will always be detailed in the job advert.

Where do you advertise the roles?

We always advertise all of our jobs through this website, even if we’re using job boards, social media, press or an agency to help us.

How can I apply to be a presenter?

We don’t usually advertise our freelance presenter roles, but we’re happy to hear from people who register an interest in becoming a freelance presenter and having a listen to your demo.

What does Global look for in an application for an internship?

We get about 150 applications each month for internships, so it’s important to stand out from the crowd! We look for dynamic, creative, hard working people who will love our Obsession Culture as much as we do. We want you to show us how passionate you are about coming to work at Global, why you think you’d be a good fit, and what makes you tick. Don’t be afraid to share everything you’re good at and any relevant experience you’ve had.

Do you accept speculative applications?

At Global, we always want to hear from talented and creative people. So if you can’t find anything right now, you can apply speculatively.

Here, you can update all of your details, tell us how great you are, and set up email alerts so that whenever a suitable job comes up, you’re the first to hear about it.

How can I sign up for vacancy alerts?

To get the latest Global jobs delivered straight into your inbox, simply register your details and select the option to ‘Manage Search Agents’, and click ‘New Agent’. We want to know what sorts of jobs you’re looking for so that we can get in touch whenever a matching role is posted.

Does Global have a Graduate Recruitment Programme?

Yes, we have an annual graduate recruitment programme and we’ll upload all the details on how to apply for this at the point we start the process so keep a look out in June!

I’ve read that some Global roles use mobile technology. How…and why?

In some of our teams such as sales, our people aren’t tied to their desks and are often out and about in meetings, or spending time with clients. We use the latest mobile technology - iPhones and MacBooks to make it easier for us to stay in touch with the rest of our team, and to make sure the momentum never stops.

What training do you offer?

Here at Global, we’re committed to the ongoing development of our people. In practical terms, this means that you will have access to our wide range of training programmes.

If you’re a new Globaler, you can expect to learn all the basics of working in the media generally, and at Global specifically.  After this, well it depends on what your job is, but whatever the role we will give you plenty of on-the-job training and you’ll be taught how to use any systems and equipment you need to do your job.

For Global Bosses, there is our bespoke Be the Boss training programme, packed with great management tools to make you a great Boss!

What’s the dress code?

A lot of our people dress casually when they’re in the office. Dress how you feel appropriate for the role you have applied; clean and presentable is always a good starting point!

What’s the structure of the company?

Global is a privately owned company, owned by Ashley Tabor. We have a whopping 22 broadcast centres, including our London office and we’re also in the USA too! Each of our Broadcast Centre has a Sales, Programming, Marketing and News teams and a Managing Director who is responsible for everything at that site.

Do you reimburse the cost to travel to my interview?

As a general rule, we don’t pay travel expenses for interviews. However, there may be occasional exceptions to this if you are asked to travel a long way for the interview.

Will I be office based?

It depends on the job. Whatever role you join us in, you’ll need to be pretty flexible and mobile as it’s such a fast and pacey environment with things changing all the time.
